The Helping Hand of the Frasier Clan

He had a passion for traveling and was known to be there one day and gone the next to explore some new land or idea... as they say *curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back* He always left word and he always came back. Unwed, and a bit of a rogue when he felt the mood, allowed him the freedom to come and go as he pleased. Although he was one to seek knowledge of all kinds he was also very skilled in weaponry. He lived by the codes of old but not so much as to be made a fool or taken advantage of, one reaped what they sowed. He would be more apt to appease a dispute diplomatically but some required the sword.

He had been gone several months soon after the family had moved onto Heathfield lands. He had even kept to himself during that short duration here and then got the itch again for traveling. He'd hung out down at the port and bartered himself a pass to Europe, he wanted to explore the German countryside... their ale... festivities and customs. He found the people warm once you proved to be trustworthy and their culture rich. He loved their songs... dancing and especially... their ale. He even had a few barrels of Lowenbrau sent back to the Thistle for when he got back.

All had gone well until he cut through France to make it to a port and a way back. Near the coast he woke to find his horse had been stolen, he set out to find the ones and did. They were handed over to the law who found them guilty and hung but his horse had been run lame and it was found they had been horse wrestling quite a few ranches. He gave a young lass he'd met the horse as such would not be a demand on the steed for the remainder of his years. She was not of any influential family with money and her need was more dire than his.

The Curse of the Frasiers

What he didn't know was that he left behind some angered families of enough influence, at least feared and related to the hung men, in his wake. Why the gang had gotten away with their deeds for so long until he came along.  He had upset their little ring of crime. Would these shadows from France follow him? Only time would tell. It was shortly after his return, his father too returned to see to his family and the building of a manor home for them all on Ballicastle lands. Alistair died of a stroke soon after his arrival but upon his death bed he told of the family curse, mostly to Neale whom had been taught a child's song when young that was more a warning. The clues to resolving the curse, cryptic within the song. The game began as the curse was unleashed with the father's death, their sister Hannah pregnant and would die in childbirth if they didn't resolve it. It became a race against time as Octavia and Hazel hindered them, Hazel to eventually turn allegiance in their favor upsetting the balance in their favor. Death near claimed Hannah as Neale confronted Octavia and soon released from the curse and her child born, both of them unharmed. All seemed quiet for now as they set to the task of building the manor home, their father had wanted for them... a family to stay together and be there for one another.

Falkirk Manor of Ballicastle

Falkirk Keep was built on Ballicastle lands. The family moving in there to situate themselves in these new lands. Eventually Danny along with Patrick built the Falkirk Downs Race Tracks which held races of both horses and dogs when weather permitted. Down behind the Keep was where the family graveyard was made with the death of Alisdair before they even moved into the Keep. Hannah eventually married Lochlan Kearney who is a blacksmith for the lands. Robert married Lisette and they too soon had a daughter. Neale eventually married Sarina Maree and now they live in the keep with their newborn son.

The past would catch up as per his travels through France when Pierre Lafayette and his brother showed along with a woman first claimed as their sister. The woman had really been married to one of the ones hung for horse theft. It was Danny they were after and ambushed him in the alleyway. He was nearly killed were it not for the healing skills of Sarina and the Queen of Heathfield. Together they using Druid skills they walked him back from the Valley of Death.

Pierre had second thoughts and had actually kept Danny from any fatal blows. He had befriended Sarina and finally told her what his brother had planned, to harm the child Ellyn. For this information they were able to stop the brother, who was killed in the fight. There was no love lost on Pierre's part and both he and the woman left the lands in separate directions. Pierre would later be found and eventually become part of Bovee Shipping.

Life settle down for a short period of time but such would not stay so with the Frasier family, especially Danny. He had met a lass during the Pierre incident and in time asked her to be his wife. Perhaps it was the ideal to settle, raise a family, that had him taking such a step. In time it proved she was not the right woman for him and the engagement was broken off. She left the lands and was not heard from since. It was another other woman that became one of his best friends, having met her through his former fiancée. She had started up an orphanage other lands and he helped her out restoring the old building needing repairs.

It was in another lands he near lost his life again. Second brush with death. Two known as Black Beard and Black Doom came on a quest of their own to rid this place of one particular friend. They were not successful but neither were they captured. When Danny came to help his friend he found they had her kidnapped and tied up in her own cellar. They showed up as he went to release her and left him for dead. Others had come so they fled rather than be captured. The two are still at large. In time he came to accept her death but it left an emptiness for quite some time.

On the heels of this came the war of the adjacent lands, putting these lands in the middle. His friend refused to leave her orphanage even when all the children were evacuated. Danny once more came to the rescue of his friend to take her out forcible if he needed to for her own good. They were about to leave when she purposely took a poisoned arrow intended for her cousin. She died in Danny's arms as the assassin escaped with the cousin on his trail. He brought her home to be buried. Her death was very hard on him. She was his best friend outside of his family.

Still the Frasier family would find no rest as a man showed up with all the legal documentation that proved him a long lost brother, eldest of the family. Broch Frasier was under a very well planned out ruse to destroy the Frasier family but taking all their wealth.

Daniel's brooding moods continued. Like a distance storm held to the horizon threatening to overtake at any moment or be dispelled harmlessly. Both Danny and Neale accepted the claim of Broch. He seemed a descent fellow but as time went on little things showed up that made them question not only his claim but his character. It was the youngest brother, Patrick, who would not accept the man from day one. His vociferous tempter would flare with every contact with the man. Time proved Patrick's instincts correct as Sarina almost fell prey to the man when he was to take off with their wealth. Had he not lusted after the woman they may not have waylaid him. Broch was killed in that fight.

Still trouble would plague the family when Broch's ghost returned to haunt them all, especially Danny whom was more open to the ethereal for his own two near death experiences. It turned out he was here to help them, redeem himself for the higher powers' decisions. It turned out that Octavia, through the help of Ferris - a man who continued to harass the family, attempted a return to take over little Ellyn by possessing her. Broch fought her on the Earthbound planes and won the battle and both disappeared. The family finally found some peace.

Danny's luck seemed near non existence when it came to his personal life. The idea of settling down once more hit home but he fought it too. He had met a few ladies he spent time with but never getting too close emotionally. Well, so he thought but one of those ladies had stolen his heart before he even realized it. He had met her in the Nexus and their time differences were as great as the expanse of the oceans themselves. Centuries difference.

With the growing attraction between them and the way she naturally responded, and he to her, when held in his arms they talked about such possibilities. They both decided that such a chasm could not be crossed and best not to go there. She had her life with her friends and he had his with his family. Logically the decision was made. Logic doesn't play a part in love and they found it left them both miserable. At first they even avoided each other to adjust but even with time it didn't alter what laid in their hearts.

Danny could no longer stand it. He couldn't stand listening to other men planning to be with her, woo her. It would have him storm out of the tavern to get away from his own feelings he seemed to have no control over. A few nights later she was there when he came in, surrounded as usual by many of which were her admirers. Not that he could blame any of them.

She came to him to see what was the matter. What was the matter? He was in love with her and so took the step to find out if what they had was real.....he asked her to marry him, to bridge the chasm of time and be with him, both knowing well all the obstacles they would face. He was prepared to be turned down but he knew in his heart he had to ask, had to give it that slim chance. When she wanted to take a walk to talk, he felt in his heart it was a way to let him down easily and not in front of all the others,  shocked no less, in the tavern. What would be even more shocking was when they returned from their talk. She had accepted his proposal, she just needed to make him aware of something in her own life. A curse no less, not much different than the one that had plagued his family. Danny was use to curses by now and could very well help in solving hers.
