Game Notes
The character of Andrew has been set up, over the years of Heathfield's
existence, as an Ancient - Druid based. This development has been depicted over these years via our Message Board
(formally on aol, now we have our own setup. 99% of aol messages were saved to
disk. ) The use of these abilities is with discretion and as needed to protect our
roleplaying environment/group. He does not do "parlor tricks".
Due to past incidents, he has set up wards of protection in both
Heathfield, Ballicastle and Tyremoor lands. He or any member can activate them as needed to protect themselves and others within our rooms.
Members: Heathfield and it's sister castles of Ballicastle and Tyremoor, are an organized group of
roleplayers/writers who are usually acting out a Storyline (SL) within our live rooms or in conjunction at times, with an SL on our MB. We have set rules and guidelines that are followed. A member even signs them showing that they have been read and accepted in becoming a member. Any rp done by a member to another member that is not acceptable to them is considered null.
An individual can accept a rp/sl for their own char but not for another or
others without their consent. An individual cannot accept a major SL (one that
could possibly harm all, IE: vandalism, takeover/siege, hostages, fire, large
scale destructive rp) for the whole castle at all, such has to be set up
via Lahoneee (or heads of the respective castles players). You do have the choice to accept or reject the rp of another be it a member or non-member. Choosing not to rp something you do not wish to, making you uncomfortable for whatever reason, does not make you a
"newbie or moder" but it does make the one trying to FRP (force
roleplay) your character
as such. Such harassment of your char and/or you in a room or in an IM for any reason is a TOS'able offense if persisted. I
strongly advise warning them as such than just complaining to others about it.
Non-members: Anyone coming into our environment, rooms created for our group, must adhere to our rules. We do not adhere to non-members own rules. The chars of Andrew and his counterpart in Ballicastle,
MichaeIMcAndrews, are in essence a safeguard against one(s) coming in here with more than mere human abilities and/or weapons who think they can do whatever they please in a negative/malicious way to those here. That is moding and it will not be
tolerated nor accepted here. Any rp done in our domain by a non-member when a member is not about is considered null. Any rp done by a non-member in our domain that is not acceptable to those here is considered null, and the
person(s) may well be put on castle-wide ignore. Fair warning: This group is not geared to negative
rp, ie: rape, mutilation,
degrading of character and/or player, or trying to kill a char without permission by the
player. (that's FRP).
If a non-member does want to do a major SL here (one that doesn't involve just one or two others but a group, or would have a castle-wide effect), you can request to set up such via
Lahoneee. If the sn is not on-line contact another member to see if the
player can be reached if online under another char or write an email with a
header of Heathfield in it. A clear cut idea of your intentions would be expected and would have to fall within our setup and rules. Those that would be involved would have to give permission on the possible outcomes
(ie: if one accepts with the condition you cannot kill their char, then don't attempt such). Anyone who doesn't wish to be a part of this SL, you cannot touch at all. If your SL does get accepted and it turns into something our own rules state against, or you deviate from your given intentions or alluded-to intentions, it will be dropped immediately and a
castle(s) wide ignore on it will go into effect (some have tried to portray one intent and in reality had another before in here). In fact, even an accepted SL can be stopped at anytime if those governing this group feel its for the best in keeping this
environment safe.
Side note: Heathfield/Ballicastle/Tyremoor/Innis Daingneach have been set up mostly for a certain kind of roleplayer here - one not geared for the negative/macabre, but rather the humorous, intellectual, challenging and, for some, romantic type of
roleplay. HF/BC/TM/ID are not democracies, they are monarchies, and the king and/or queen can make decisions based on what they feel is best for the group as a whole.
If anyone doesn't like this setup, the solution is simple, save yourself and us a headache and don't
roleplay here. You are not required to roleplay here. Those here are not required to rp with you. The roleplaying experience here is supposed to be fun. We are set up in this way to keep it that way for those who have joined our group.

Definitions:
Emperor/Empress:
Comes from the Latin, "imperator," which was
originally a military title. Soldiers would salute the leader of a
victorious army as "imperator." King/Queen:
The monarch outranks everyone else. In England, which generally gives
precedent to males, the Queen nonetheless outranks her husband since she
inherited the title. Queen Elizabeth's husband is Prince Philip, Duke of
Edinburgh. Men who are commoners, such as Antony Armstrong-Jones, who
married Princess Margaret, typically receive a title as a courtesy.
Armstrong-Jones was made the Earl of Snowdon. Prince/Princess:
In England, a prince or princess are often children of the monarch, and
therefore royalty, as opposed to nobility, but those holding the title can
vary in rank. In France, a duke, or "duc"
outranks a prince. In Russia and Austria, the title archduke
is an indication of royal blood, and is used instead of prince. Duke/Duchess:
Originally all English dukes were of royal blood. When
sons of kings came of age they were typically given the title duke. Now a
duke is the highest of the five degrees of English nobility. Other noble
titles, indicating one is a member of the hereditary peerage, are: marquess,
earl (in
France and elsewhere on the continent, "comte"
or count),
viscount,
and baron. A baronet
is not included among the peerage, but the title can be inherited. Below a
baronet, is a knight,
which is a title of honor rather aristocracy.

Druids
The
concept of Druids here are those with gifts given by the Source of All
Creation. God. Master of the Universe -- Title/Label doesn't matter only
in that there is a center Source, a conscious Mind that herald creation.
These gifts are used for the betterment and progression of mankind. They
are not flaunted like some magical show but are used in the background as
needed. They are not used for personal gain but can be used for protection
of themselves and others. Energy is within all things and how it appears
is just the arrangement of these molecules. The concept is that all is a
part of the whole, all is life/energy. Air, Earth, Fire and Water are not
looked upon as gods, and that which is associated with them, but as energy
sources that are subdivisions of the Main Source. In this light they are
respected no matter what title they are given.
There is a balance to be maintained of the Universe and of Mother Nature.
The balance within mankind subsequently. They understand that with the
gift of free choice there are matters they can directly intervene with,
others they can only help in guidance and some they cannot touch at all.
The wisdom is knowing the difference. The reasoning behind this way of
conduct practiced by the Druids here is that life is a conscious
evolvement of lessons that need to be learn in the progression of Soul and
Mind. An analogy is a child taking their first steps is at first
encouraged by the parent walking them while holding them, then a guide by
a hand and lastly without any aid. It is one of the hardest things to do -
to stand by on the sideline and watch.
-- this is a start. I will continue to work on it as needed.

Fifth
Element
Although
Spirit is the fifth Element it is seldom used, if at all, in magic. It is
rare that this Element is held in a powerful state, though those who can
harness its strength control all elements surrounding it. It is
represented by the center of the circle of the color brilliant white. It
has no rulers or beings other than the Goddess and the God. Ritual work
with the Element of Spirit can include enlightenment, seeking the life's
path, understanding karma, and the unveiling of the ancient spiritual
Mysteries.

Swords of Heathfield
Andrew
along with Rhett Shawnesey forged one hundred swords of special alloys
with Andrew empowering them through his abilities. Craftsmanship was of
the finest, extraordinary with Andrew to wear the Master Sword which held
power over the others. In knighting or ritual of setting a sword to the
hand of another he would speak on these abilities.
Know
that this sword is made of alloys here and of other planes. Certain ones
picked out by me. It can split through solid rock and not dull the blade.
It is more geared for the astral planes and evil in particular wherever it
roams, no matter in what form. You will learn the song this sword will
hold for you alone. You will learn the powers that it holds, how it will
speak to you and warn. None other can pick it up or suffer the burning of
their hand or shock, so wear it always to avoid mishap. Another can
hold it only by your permission. If dropped and a distance away, it will
come to your hand if called. Know that only one thing can destroy this
sword and that is if it is used for selfish or evil purposes. The blade
will shatter and disintegrate. If you leave the lands for good.. the sword
is still yours but these other special properties are drawn back into
the Master Sword, which holds power over all the swords. This puts you in
service to the Crown of Heathfield and her sister castles.
Story of the Grugrach
The Grugrach is a very
magical Fae, more so than others. Unlike the Elves whom were beautiful to
look upon, they were the other side of the coin. Ugly. Yet even with hairy
bodies, bowed legged, and much like a monkey with a wolf's face, their eyes
showed what they truly were. The eyes of the Grugrach are captivating in a
warm wisdom filled gaze. One young mature male had wandered the boundaries
of the deep forest where they hide from human kind. In his wanderings he
came upon a beautiful maiden out picking the wild flowers of the fields. He
was captivated by her beauty and the graceful way she moved. Her voice like
the song birds as she collected the flowers for a castle not far from the
field. The Grugrach male was warned by his kin to stay within the boundaries
but he didn't listen. Each day the maiden would come to field to collect her
flowers and each day the Grugrach would watch her. His heart slowly swelled
with the love he held for her. A love the young maiden would never know
about. That was how he felt at first but the young male become daring,
having the magical ability to transform. The next day the young maiden came
to the field but this day her laughter and song were missing. This day she
came upon a sight that took her breath away for there emerging from the
forest was the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes upon. Still, it was
not just his looks but the way he moved and his eyes that captured hers as
he approached. The chemistry was there, the love that would not be denied by
time or breed.
Each day they met there
each morning. He found out that her song had ceased that day for her father
was starting to look for a husband for her of noble standing. He was the
king of the castle. She was the youngest and the last to be married off.
Many were the handsome men that came to win her hand and each she had turned
away. Finally her father stated that all the suitors would come to court and
she to pick one. He had enough of her games and it was time for her to
choose. That night all the men, twenty-five in all came to stand before the
King and his daughter in the hopes of being chosen. Amongst them was the
Grugrach male. None had noticed at first in the group of men until they were
asked to line up. There were gasps from the others that had come to watch
the event when one stood out amongst the rest. There amongst the finery and
handsome suitors, stood the Grugrach male in his natural form. Naked,
covered with hair that nothing was visible that should not be. Some of the
women screamed. Guards were called as the other men backed away from him
leaving him standing in the middle of the room.
The Grugrach didn't run,
nor did he move from that spot but stood proud in spite of the ruckus going
on around him. His eyes were upon the young maiden solely. As the guards
came to descend upon the beast as they saw him, the maiden called out for
them to stop for she had seen his eyes. She rushed to his side and declared
he was the one and only one she would married. Her father was not pleased
but a promise was a promise and she had made her choice. The Grugrach knew
then that she truly loved him as he did her. He would keep the illusion form
of human as needed. They bore children over the years. As with most castles
and time this original one crumbled to dust. The Royal family lived on in
their descendants and build another castle upon the same site. They named
this one....Heathfield.
